i brought some of my favorite dolls and toys to play with into that secret room, and i loved eating snacks where my mother wouldn't catch me spoiling my dinner. it was my #1 hiding spot for playing hide-and-seek with newbies in my house ;]

love these!
this is seriously awesome! i love the idea of secret rooms and passages. i think i attempted two times to have a pinterest board called "something's hiding here," but i had trouble collecting images like this! i never had a secret spot growing up, but i always wish i did!
fun! wonderful post! love the last one...

I always wanted a secret room growing up... A family friend had a long hallway of mirrors, and if you pressed on one of the panels, it opened up to reveal a secret room... That really captured my fancy for a long time.
fun!!! my secret spot was underneath the dining room table. not much of a secret.

glad to see you all enjoyed these! i can't wait until i build my own house and hide secret passageways and rooms for my kids to find :]
@sensiblyluxe -- what??? that sounds AWESOME! i wonder what other secrets your family friend's house holds
@moderngirl -- i hid under the table too hahaha
I was the queen of finding cool hiding places as a kid. Even as an adult, I much prefer to spend my time in smaller, more cozy spaces. When Tiho and I moved in together, my living space quadrupled. I still don't know what to do with it all!
Ahh, these are so cool!!
What a fantastic post! Congratulations!
My next door neighbor actually has a bookshelf that swings open to reveal his secret office behind it. Pure magic.
By the way, I notice your bio mentions both NYC and the City of Brotherly Love. Are you in Philly?
